Dahi Gosht Recipe | Pressure Cooker Mutton Curry | दही गोश्त बनाने की विधि | Mutton | kabitaskitchen


  • Mutton (washed)-500 gm
  • Curd/yogurt-250 gm
  • Chopped onion-3(medium)
  • Dalchini(mace)-2
  • Bay leaves-2
  • Dry red chilli-1
  • Garlic paste-1 tsp
  • Ginger paste-1 tsp
  • Green chilli(slit)-2
  • Garam masala powder-1/2 tsp
  • Cooking oil-4 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds-1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
  • Red chilli powder-1 tsp
  • Cumin powder-1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder-1/2 tsp
  • Salt to taste or 1.5 tsp
  • Meat masala or chicken masala powder-1 tsp


  1. In a bowl, add mutton, green chili, garlic paste, ginger paste, curd, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, meat masala powder. Mix and marinate for 30 min in fridge.
  2. Heat pressure cooker, add oil, cumin seeds, bay leaf, whole chili and fry for a few seconds.
  3. Add chopped onions and fry for 3-4 min with cover on (but not locked).
  4. Add salt, cover pan (not lock) and cook for 2 min.
  5. Add marinated mutton, salt (remember, we already added some earlier), mix well, cover the pan (no lock), cook for 10-12 min and stir occasionally.   
  6. Add 2 tbsp of mustard oil (optional)
  7. Cover the pressure cooker (no lock) and cook for 2-3 min over low heat.
  8. Add 150 ML water.
  9. Increase the heat, add garam masala powder.
  10. Cover the lock and cook for 2 whistles.
  11. Ready to serve.
